It's Time to Start Your Garden

No matter the space, there is a way to have a garden. It doesn’t matter if you live in an apartment or have an acre or more. There’s always a way.

Vertical gardening is a great idea for patios, balconies, in windows or to maximize space. The ideas are endless. Recycled products make good planters. I personally use old tires, cement blocks, leftover tin, water barrels, over the door shoe organizers, wire racks, pretty much anything I can find to plant in. You can hang soda bottles in a window, make an herb garden out of leftover or old gutter.

Companion planting is another way to maximize small spaces. Along with giving you a jump start on pest control. Not all combinations will help with pests, but will help with the nutrients the other needs.

Laying out you plans for your garden before hand will help to figure out how much seeds you need and the best way to arrange your garden. There are ways to control weeds, to save time later.

Window boxes are a good place for vertical gardens. You can hang planters, use window shelves, recycle plastic bottles.

Greenhouse growing is just one idea. You can grow in containers, flowerpots, baskets, or just about anything that will hold dirt.

Larger Space Garden

Having a larger space still takes planning to make the best use of your space. Try growing as much as possible vertically, like cucumbers, beans, squash and even watermelon.

Trellises, racks, shelves, planters held up by rope or empty plastic bottles can easily be used for vertical gardens.
